1. Payment Terms & Agreement Structure
Rent-to-own agreements may be offered on weekly, biweekly, or monthly renewal terms.
With each renewal period, you generally have two choices:
- Continue payments and renew the agreement.
- Terminate the agreement and return the rented merchandise.
2. Right to Return / No-Penalty Termination
You may return rented merchandise at any time without a return penalty. If the product no longer meets your needs, contact Continental Home Center to arrange a return.
- We will work with you to arrange pickup of the rented merchandise.
- You are not required to continue future rental renewals after the merchandise has been returned in accordance with your agreement.
- Continental Home Center does not charge a restocking penalty simply because you choose to terminate the rental and return the product.
- If your account is current when the merchandise is returned, you are released from future rental renewal obligations for that merchandise.
3. Past-Due or Missed Payments
Returning rented merchandise does not erase amounts that were already due before the return. Any unpaid renewal payments or other existing obligations remain subject to the terms of your rental-purchase agreement.
If you are experiencing financial difficulty, you may choose to return the merchandise to prevent additional future rental renewal obligations.
4. Ownership & Early Purchase Options
Continuing payments through the end of the agreement, or exercising an available early purchase option, may allow you to acquire ownership of the merchandise as described in your written agreement.
If merchandise is returned before ownership is acquired, ownership does not transfer to you and the merchandise remains the property of Continental Home Center.
5. Condition of Returned Products
Returned merchandise should be reasonably clean and free from damage beyond normal wear and use.
If merchandise is severely damaged, abused, missing parts, or excessively soiled beyond reasonable wear, charges may apply as permitted by your agreement and applicable law. These charges are related to extraordinary damage or cleaning and are not a penalty simply for choosing to return the merchandise.
6. How to Initiate a Return
To arrange a return, contact your local Continental Home Center by phone, through our website, or in person.
- Contact your Continental location and request a return pickup.
- Our team will work with you to schedule a reasonable pickup date and time.
- Once the merchandise has been returned, future rental renewals for that merchandise will stop, subject to any existing amounts or obligations under your agreement.
